Sam, an example of a target audience member for my magazine, shown interest in three different magazines being Film Stories, Sight and Sound and Little White Lies. Here is some further information on these magazines to inquire what interests will engage my target audience in consuming my magazine initially and further. The Film Stories magazine was originally founded as a podcast and website by Simon Brew in June 2018, it has since expanded to a film magazine since November 2018. The magazine is published monthly and a typical cover tends to feature bright colours with a familiar celebrity face endorsement on the main cover, like this presented on the right.   Research Into The UK Magazine Industry The whole magazine market has been turned on its head in recent decades due to the uprise of online media taking a massive role in the distribution of information in society, leading to the movement from magazines to newer online media sources which happen to be easier to run by means of being cheaper while other already institutions moved onto the online scene all together.   Research Into An Existing Bauer Film Magazine (Empire) The Empire magazine is itself a magazine focused on the ins and outs of the film industry claiming to be the world’s most influential film and entertainment brand. Empire uses its already known status to relish in what they can achieve by having ‘unparalleled access’ to the industry and its members for example, interviews with Tom Cruise to being on set with Quentin Tarantino and shooting videos with Ryan Reynolds displaying their amount of access and power they have to produce content that they and their audience want.   Bauer Research Facts and knowledge researched were sited from wikipedia or the official Bauer website. Research online inquiring information about the company I found that Bauer Media Group is a German multimedia conglomerate operating all across the globe owning numerous magazines, digital products, radio and TV stations. Bauer boasts its reputation on their website by claiming they are ‘Europe’s largest magazine publisher’ with ‘140 years+ of publishing experience’, therefore Bauer’s presence on the Media market is global and dominant and is also well known within the UK as they claim to be ‘A house of iconic brands’ within the UK owning 40 magazine brands and selling 153 million copies annually.
